i may be getting ahead of myself as it seems we've not even had a summer 2012 yet, but i've already fallen in love with the marc jabobs spring/summer '13 ready to wear collection. the bright, clashing colours with a nod to traditional romanian gypsy styles are a far cry from last years military khaki hues and paisley patterns. 

i think the reason this collection really caught my eye is because i can imagine wearing one of these pieces would be like stepping right into the clothes of Esmerelda, the gypsy Disney princess (the Hunchback of Notre Dome), and she is by far the sexiest, best dressed of them all.

Recently, i've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Topshop. 'Queen of the high-street' it may arguably be, but it's a little off putting knowing that for any item purchased, there will be millions of identical replicas being purchased not only across the UK but about 20 other countries world wide. What's more, even without the brand name sprawled across your chest, anyone who isn't completely unaware of the fashion world will be able to pinpoint exactly where it came from. So i try not to wear too much Topshop if i can help it, but these little pieces which have recently come in stock have really caught my eye! I might just not be able to help myself...

I've been looking for an oversized boyfriend coat for a while now, and this one is by far the best i've found yet! I love the contrast of the blue with the brown collar, the slouchy shape and it looks wonderfully nice and cozy. The shirt and scarf speak for themselves i think - so pretty!

don't i live in such a gorgeous place? a truly wonderful day out. shame all that exercise was counteracted by the huge picnic, elderberry ciders and bbq i consumed! 

A fresh start

After deleting my former blog (it became very neglected, poor little thing), i've had a year of only authoring an inspiration blog on tumblr. That is to say if you can call hitting the 're-blog' button every time a pretty photo popped up blogging.

Anyway, now i officially have a place studying Fashion Journalism at UCA Epsom, i've decided it's time to start big-girl blog. One in which i shall nurture and not push aside for weekend benders and a mind-numbing job in a coffee shop. 

This will essentially be a blog about fashion, but also bits and bobs about music, culture, my uni work and my life in general.
